„Skulpturen aus Beton” ist eine Werkreihe, die in den Jahren 2015–2017 durch intensive, monatelange Arbeit und Wojtek Figielskis tiefe Faszination für Texturen sowie für schwere, rohe Materialien entstand, die auf unerwartete Weise eingesetzt werden.
In den präsentierten Serien – monumental, asketisch und anonym – erhält Beton ein völlig neues Gesicht und wird zum Träger von Symbolen, Emotionen und Geschichten. Der Künstler spielt mit Kontrasten, indem er das Gewicht des Materials mit feinen Details kombiniert und archaische Formen mit expressiven Gesten verbindet.
Die gezeigten Skulpturen sind voller Gegensätze – majestätisch und grotesk, schützend und beunruhigend und zugleich zutiefst menschlich und universell. In jeder von ihnen ist eine Geschichte verborgen, die nie ganz erzählt werden kann, sondern nur durch ihre Textur fühlbar wird.

„Skulpturen aus Beton” to cykl rzeźb stworzonych w latach 2015-2017, dzięki intensywnej, wielomiesięcznej pracy i głębokiej fascynacji Wojtka Figielskiego fakturami oraz ciężkimi, surowymi materiałami wykorzystywanymi w nieoczywisty sposób.
W prezentowanych seriach - monumentalnych, ascetycznych i anonimowych - beton zyskuje zupełnie nowe oblicze stając się nośnikiem symboli, emocji i opowieści. Artysta bawi się kontrastami, gdzie ciężar materiału zestawia z delikatnością detalu, a archaiczne formy łączy z ekspresyjnym gestem.
Prezentowane rzeźby to prace pełne sprzeczności – majestatyczne i groteskowe, ochronne i niepokojące, a zarazem głęboko ludzkie i uniwersalne. W każdej z nich ukryta jest historia, której nie da się opowiedzieć do końca, a którą można jedynie poczuć poprzez ich fakturę.

“Skulpturen aus Beton” is a series of sculptures created between 2015 and 2017, born out of intense, months-long work and Wojtek Figielski’s deep fascination with textures and with heavy, raw materials used in unexpected ways.
In the presented series – monumental, ascetic, and anonymous – concrete gains an entirely new character, becoming a carrier of symbols, emotions, and stories. The artist plays with contrasts, juxtaposing the weight of the material with delicate details and merging archaic forms with expressive gestures.
These sculptures are works full of contradictions – majestic and grotesque, protective and unsettling, yet deeply human and universal. In each of them lies a hidden story that can never be fully told, but can only be felt through their texture.

DE / Monumentale, rau strukturierte Köpfe des Königspaares, die an uralte Totems erinnern – roh und voller Ausdruckskraft. Die farbigen Akzente in den Gesichtern stehen im Kontrast zur Schwere des Betons und schaffen ein subversives Spiel zwischen Majestät und Groteske. Es sind Skulpturen, die mit dem Bild von Macht spielen, ihre Theatralik, Zerbrechlichkeit und das menschliche Antlitz zeigen.
PL / Monumentalne, chropowate głowy królewskiej pary będące echem pradawnych totemów - surowych i pełnych ekspresji. Ich kolorowe akcenty na twarzach kontrastują z ciężarem betonu, tworząc przewrotną grę między majestatem a groteską. To rzeźby, które bawią się wizerunkiem władzy pokazując jej teatralność, kruchość i ludzkie oblicze.
EN / Monumental, rough-textured heads of the royal couple echo ancient totems – raw and full of expression. The colorful accents on their faces contrast with the weight of the concrete, creating an ironic play between majesty and grotesque. These are sculptures that play with the image of power, revealing its theatricality, fragility, and human face.

EN / The series presents concrete, winged figures – an ascetic vision of angels whose geometric wings and massive forms emphasize materiality and earthliness. These sculptures evoke strong contradictions in the viewer – they feel protective yet unsettling, heavy yet fleeting.

DE / Eine Serie anonymer, maskenartiger Gesichter, bei denen Textur und Form im Vordergrund stehen. Alle Gesichtszüge sind nur angedeutet, als würden sie aus dem Material selbst hervortreten. Die Skulpturen erinnern an geheimnisvolle, uralte Relikte einer vergessenen Kultur. Jedes Gesicht erzählt eine Geschichte, die wir nie ganz erfahren werden.
PL / Seria anonimowych, maskopodobnych twarzy, w których faktura i forma wysuwają się na pierwszy plan. Wszystkie rysy są tu ledwie zarysowane, jakby wynurzały się z materii. Rzeźby przypominają pełne tajemnicy, pradawne relikty zapomnianej kultury. Każda z twarzy opowiada historię, której nigdy nie usłyszymy w całości.
EN / A series of anonymous, mask-like faces where texture and form take center stage. All features are barely sketched, as if emerging from the material itself. The sculptures resemble mysterious, ancient relics of a forgotten culture. Each face tells a story we will never fully hear.
